The Vieillot's Black Weaver (Ploceus nigerrimus) is endemic to Africa. Specifically, they are found in:
Angola, Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.
They favor subtropical or tropical dry forest areas.
