The Sooty Oystercatcher, Haematopus fuliginosus, is native to Australia, where it is commonly found on its coastline. This oystercatcher prefers rocky coastlines, but will occasionally live in estuaries. The plumage is all black. The eyes, the eye rings and the bill are red and the legs pink.
