The Severtzov's Grouse is also known as the Chinese Grouse or Black-breasted Hazel Grouse (Bonasa sewerzowi). It is named after the Russian explorer and naturalist Nikolai Alekseevich Severtzov.
This sedentary bird inhabits the conifer-rich mixed montane forests of central China.
This grouse looks like the Hazel Grouse apart from less of a white stripe on the head and neck.
