The Sandy Scops Owl (Otus icterorhynchus) - also commonly referred to as Cinnamon Scops-owl - occurs naturally in Africa.
Recognized Subspecies and Ranges
- Otus icterorhynchus icterorhynchus (Shelley, 1873) - Nominate Race
- Range: Liberia, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
- Otus icterorhynchus holerythrus (Sharpe, 1901)
- Range: Southern Cameroon, northern Congo and northern and eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They could possibly occur in northern Gabon.
