Cotingas

The Purple-breasted Cotinga (Cotinga cotinga) is a South American endemic that is found in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.
Natural Habitat:
Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
Diet / Feeding
They feed mainly on fruit.
Description
The males have bright blue plumage with a purple chest. The blue color is produced by air bubbles in the feathers which scatter light. The females are much duller than males and are mainly brown.
