Puerto Rican Vireo (Vireo latimeri) is endemic to the archipelago of Puerto Rico. There has been a decline in its population due to brood parasitism by the Shiny Cowbird (Molothrus bonariensis).
The vireo averages 4.72 inches (12 cm) in length and 0.388 - 0.423 oz in weight. It has a gray head, a white breast and a yellowish belly.
Its diet consists mainly of grasshoppers, caterpillars, cicadas, beetles, aphids and - to a lesser extent - spiders, anolis and berries.
