The Prong-billed Barbet (Semnornis frantzii) is a large-billed barbet that is native to humid highland forest in Costa Rica and western Panama (Central America). Their primary diet consists of fruits, but insects and flowers are also taken. Insects are more common in the diet of nestlings. Prong-billed Barbets are monogamous breeders that defend breeding territories from all others of their species.
