Hi! I am Sibylle (aka Faye)!

Sibylle

Thank you for visiting my website. The AvianWeb is my hobby and passion, which grew out of one of the most difficult times in my life: having my pet parrot diagnosed of an uncurable contagious disease, caring for her until her death (PDD), and waiting for my other pets to show symptoms of this deadly disease (which never happend, which is something I will always be greatful for).

The AvianWeb begun with a memorial page for Xena ... I had never done a webpage and I spent nights (the only time I had time) creating that webpage, and then -- once I got into it -- I wanted to create a website that would provide information on bird health issues, and then expanded to bird care, bird species information, birding, etc. etc. Once I started, I just couldn't stop. Now, the Avianweb is something that allows me to "practice" my passion for birds and nature in general ... I hope you enjoy your visit!

Our September 2010 Cruise (the shortest week EVER!) ... Our South Florida Home ... Our latest home (and pets) in Central Florida

Living proof that cats and birds can happily share a household (well, the kittie might disagree to a point ;-), but he has learned to behave ...

Please note the different colors of this clutch of lovebirds. Genetic diversity at work here, with genetically split parents producing one clutch of babies, each one of a different color (and an exceptionally sweet personality to boot).

There were many valuable lessons to be learned over the years ...

I've learned....
That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned ...
That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.
"Honey, don't you think it's a bad idea to begin with the "cook-out" before the gas leak has been repaired?

I've learned....
That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.
Proven fact of life: spend more time doing and less time debating how long it takes you to do it, and you will be surprised to find that the job is done before others even have stopped discussing it.

I've learned....
That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
"No, Darling, the fact that you gambled away our home and sold our kids into slavery - doesn't bother me at all. I consider this 'gambling personality of yours' a 'cute eccentricity.'"

Now check out my favorite lake where I used to go blading nearly every day: Lake Miramar in San Diego, California.  Looking at the pictures you will see that this beautiful place is not only good for you physically (provided you take advantage and do some sort of sports), but also good for your soul.

Below is one of the rare photos of myself (is there another?) with short hair -- the outcome of a bad perm ... Still, I wasn't going to stop LIVING because someone messed with my hair ;-) ... My best friend (who was Indian) invited me to an authentic Indian festival. Thousands of Indians and myself ... may I just mention that I stood out like a sore thumb ;-) ...

Still, people were very friendly and I got some very nice memories from this.
