The Pectoral-patch Cisticola (Cisticola brunnescens) occurs naturally in the following African countries:
Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Kenya, Somalia and Tanzania.
It inhabits damp or wet areas in upland grassland.
Description
this small Cisticola measures about 9 - 10 cm in length. The back is streaked. It has a short or medium tail which may get longer in the breeding season.
Similar Species:
It resembles the Pale-crowned Cisticola but can be identified by the pale rufous (not buff) crown and forehead in the breeding season.
