How to Restrict breeding

What is the best way to restrict my love birds from breeding? I'd hate to separate them but don't want to raise babies. They had one clutch and I only left one egg which hatched but as soon as this baby was weaned, the mating - egg laying - nesting ritual immediately began again. Also, should the baby be housed separately in another cage and if so when?

The following webpage will provide you with instructions on reducing / preventing unwanted egg laying: ... Separating them should not be necessary. Parents may attack young ones if they are in the nesting mode. If aggression is displayed, any young should be removed immediately. Whether or not aggression occurs also depends on the size of the cage they are in. The smaller the space, the more likely the breeding territory is aggressively defended by breeding pairs (even against their own offspring)
