The Melanesian Cuckoo-shrikes (Coracina caledonica) are found on the New Caledonia, Bougainville Island, the Solomon Islands, and the island of Vanuatu. They inhabit subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and moist montanes.
The Melanesian Cuckoo-shrike measures about 32–37 cm in length, including the long square tail.
The plumage is mostly dark grey. The adults have yellow and the juveniles dark eyes.
