Lazy Cisticola or Rock-loving Cisticola (Cisticola aberrans)


Lazy or Rock-loving Cisticola (Cisticola aberrans) The Lazy Cisticola or Rock-loving Cisticola (Cisticola aberrans) is endemic to the following African countries:

Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

They inhabit subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland. This species is usually associated with rocky wooded terrain with interspersed patchy grass tussocks.


Taxonomy

It is sometimes split into two species:

  • Lazy Cisticola (Cisticola aberrans) - southern part of its range

  • Rock-loving Cisticola (Cisticola emini) - northern range
