The Island Whistler (Pachycephala phaionota) is endemic to Indonesia, where it inhabits subtropical or tropical dry forests and mangrove forests in the Moluccas. The Island Whistler measures about 16 cm in length. Its crown and side of the head are greyish-brown, grading to brown on hindneck. Its lores are washed darker grey with brown ear-coverts. The upper plumage is brown. The upperwings are dusky brown.
