The Dull-colored Grassquit (Tiaris obscurus) is recognized as a tanager closely related to Darwins finches.

 

Distribution / Range

It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela; where it inhabits tropical moist lowland forests, montane forests, shrubland and heavily degraded former forest.
