The Dot-winged Crake (Porzana spiloptera) is found in the following South American countries: Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. Their preferred habitats are subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, freshwater lakes and marshes, as well as coastal saline lagoons. This species is threatened by habitat destruction.
