The Crinkle-collared Manucode (Manucodia chalybatus) is found throughout lowlands and hill forests in mainland New Guinea and Misool Island of West Papua.

This medium-sized birds measure up to 36cm in length. This greenish blue, black and purple glossed bird of paradise has a long graduated tail, red irises and iridescent green feathers on the chest.

Males and females are very similar with a slightly smaller and less purple female.

The diet consists mainly of fruits and figs.
