Distribution / Range
It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
It is a vagrant to the Falkland Islands. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, temperate grassland, and heavily degraded former forest.
It is found along the edges of water, hills, fields, especially if they are newly carved and sometimes in towns and cities.
They measure about 37 - 40 cm in length.. They have brown eyes. The male has light grey legs and the female's are yellowish.
The upper plumage is cinnamon brown and white. Neck, chest, abdomen and belly light brown. Head dark brown. Wings dark brown stripe and white in the basal half of the primaries (longest wing feathers). The tail is light brown with dark brown terminal band.
Diet / Feeding
They mostly feed on mostly carrion, rotten fruit, lizards, insects, birds and mammals
