Description:

Size: 12-13 cm in length with a 20-23 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Both sexes have a bright yellow throat, breast, and face that are characteristic of the species. The have two conspicuous white wing bars, an olive green cap and back, a gray rump, and a white belly. The beak and legs are gray and the eyes are black with a yellow eyering.
