Description:

Size: 26-30 cm in length with a 50-55 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Uniform gray above, with a whitish eyebrow and dark rump and tail. Breeding adults have heavily barred undersides. Non-breeding adults are off-white below, with a gray wash on the  flanks. The legs are greenish-yellow and the beak and eyes are black.
