Description:

Size: 9-11 cm in length with a 16-17 cm wingspan.

Plumage:  Adults are gray with a yellow head and throat, chestnut patch at the bend of the wing, and white undersides. Juveniles lack both the yellow and the chestnut coloration of adults and are only distinguishable from the Bushtit by their shorter tails. The legs, beak, and eyes are black.
