Sky Lark

Distribution: most of Europe and Asia. and mountainous areas of north Africa.

Description:

Size: 18-19 cm in length with a 30-36 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Mainly brown above and paler below, with a scale pattern on the upper back and dark brown streaks on the throat. It has a short blunt crest on the head, which can be raised and lowered. In flight it shows a short tail and short broad wings. The tail and the rear edge of the wings are edged with white. The legs and beak are  dark brown and the eyes are dark brown ringed by tawny brown.
