Description:

Size: 

Plumage: Males are plain grayish-brown above except for the distinctive bright red throat patch. there are two white lines on each side of the face; one above and one below each eye. Flight feathers may be edged with black. Females are uniform dull brown with one white stripe above each eye. The legs and beak are brown and the eyes are black.
