Description:

Size: 90-99 cm in length with a 220-256 cm wingspan. Adults weigh 2.6-5.3 kg.

Plumage: The adult has white underparts, white underwings narrowly bordered with black, a grayish back, white rump, dark gray tail, and white to light gray head. The wing mantle is uniform dark except for one white streak. The black notch on the underwing at the point where the leading edge of the wing joins the body is characteristic for the species.
