Description:

Size: 12-13 cm in length.

Plumage: Both sexes are plain-olive to olive-gray, with white underbellies, bright yellow breasts and throats, and a characteristic facial pattern consisting of a reddish cap, a white eyebrow line, a dark eye line fading into a red to chestnut cheek, and a white marking over the beak.

The bill is short and black, the wings are short and rounded, and the tail is long, often raised at a high angle and flicked.
