Description:

Size: 29-31 cm in length with a 90-100 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Breeding adults are generally white with a narrow black collar, pale gray back and wings, a pinkish tinge on the underside, and a wedge-shaped tail. In winter, adults lack the collar and pinkish tinge. The legs are red and the beak and eyes are black.
