Description:

Size: 17-18 cm in length with a 26-30 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Males are gray above, with a black cap and pale rose-red throat; they are generally whitish below. Females are brown above, paler brown below, with a dusky grayish cap. The legs, beak, and eyes are black.
