Originated from Europe, North America and western Asia.  Introduced worldwide.
 

Description:

Measure 11 - 15 inches (29 - 37 cm) in length.  The head, neck and chest are dark bluish-grey with a glossy glossy yellowish, greenish and reddish-purple iridescence along its neck and wing feathers.

The eyes are yellow, oange or red with a pale inner ring.  The bare skin around the eyes is bluish-grey.  The bill is greyish-blak.  The cere (skin above the beak) is off-white.  The legs / feet are purplish-red.

The lower back is white in the pure Rock Pigeon. There are two black bars on the pale grey wings.  The tail has a black band on the end.
