Distribution

Breed in eastern Greenland, Iceland and Svalbard and spend the winters in northwest Europe, especially Great Britain, the Netherlands, and western Denmark.

Description

This medium-sized goose measures about 60 - 75 cm in length and weighs 1.8 - 3.3 kg.  The plumage is mostly mid-grey brown; the head and neck is a darker brown.  The rump and vent are white.  The tail is grey with a wide white tip. The short bill is pink in the middle with a black base and tip.  The feet are pink.
