Pelagic Cormorant

Other Names:  Baird's Cormorant

Distribution: North Pacific waters, south through Japan.

Description:

Size: 55-70 cm in length with a 100-120 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Generally all black with a metallic iridescence. In breeding plumage they grow two short crests (one on top of the head and one on the neck), white thighs, and scattered white plumes on the head and neck. The legs, beak, and eyes are all black.
