Omao (Hawaiian Thrush)

Distribution: exclusively on the island of Hawaii.

 

Description:

Size: 18-19 cm in length, weighing 49-52 g.

Plumage: Generally brown with a grayish-brown head transitioning to a pale gray below. The back and flight feathers are a dull olive brown. They also have whitish vents and undertails. Juveniles have pale whitish-buff spots on the wing mantle. The legs and beak are brown and the eyes are black with brown eyerings.
