Description:

Size: 15-17 cm in length.

Plumage: The small round head and long, finely barred tail are distinctive of the species. Generally varying shades of brown with fine buff spotting above and off-white with bolder brown streaks below. The two white-edged black spots at the back of the neck suggest eyes. The legs, beak, and eyes are yellow.
