Mexican Whip-poor-will


Southwestern United States and Mexico


Plumage mottled.  Above grey, black and blown.  Below grey and black.  Black throat. Short bill.  
Males can be identified by the white patch below the throat and white tips on the outer tail feathers; in females, these parts are light brown.
