Description:

Size: 75-86 cm in length with a 150-160 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Adults are generally white with pointed black wings, a pointed black tail, and a dark gray facemask. Males ahve a yellow bill, and the female's is greenish yellow; during the breeding season they have a patch of bare, bluish skin at the base of the bill. Juveniles are brownish on the head and uppersides, with an off-white rump and neck collar. The eyes are small and red and the legs are gray to black.
