Lesser Yellowlegs

Range:

Found in clearings near bodies of water in the Taiga (boreal forest rgion) - from Alaska east to Quebec.They migrate south to winter along the Gulf coast of the United States and as far south as South America. Vagrants are regularly reported in western Europe.

Description:

Medium-sized shorebird with brown mottled plumage above and whitish plumage below.  The bill is long and pointed. The legs are orange-yellowish.
