Java Sparrow

Other Names: Java Finch, Java Rice Sparrow, Java Rice Bird

Distribution: Indonesian islands of Java, Bali, and Bawean; introduced to Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Description:

Size: 15-17 cm in length.

Plumage: Adults have gray uppersides and breast, a pink belly, and a white-cheeked black head. Juveniles have brown uppersides and pale brown undersides, and a plain head. The legs are pink, the beak is pink to red, and the eyes are black with red eyerings.
