Island Scrub-Jay

Distribution: Exclusively found on Santa Cruz Island, off the coast of California.

Description:

Size: 33 cm in length.

Plumage: Both sexes have a dark blue head, wings, and tail. The back is dark brown, and the cheeks are black, set off from the blue of the head by a narrow white eyebrow. A white throat is delineated by a blue breast band from the dusky brown breast and belly, and the feathers under the tail are bluish. The legs, eyes, and beak are all black.
