Hawfinch

Distribution / Range:

Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Bali and Vietnam. Rare vagrant to the western islands of Alaska.

Description:

Measure 16.5-18 cm in length.

Head: orange-brown with a black eye stripes and bib.  Large bill: black in summer and paler in winter.

Above dark brown, below orange.  Striking white wing bars and tail tips.
