Range:

Species is found in the southwestern United States south to Chile and central Argentina. Birds are found in Western Europe, especially Britain. They are a popular species in falconry.

Description:

Height is 46 to 76 cm . Wingspan is about 1.1 m. Plumage is dark brown with chestnut shoulders, wing linings, and thighs.  They have white on the base and on the tip of the tail. They have  long, yellow legs and a yellow cereat.
