Distribution: southern Arizona and northwestern Mexico.

Description:

Size: 29-30 cm in length.

Plumage: They have a brown back with dark bars and spots, and are off-white to buff below with black spots. There is a black crescent on breast and a white rump and yellow underwings visible in flight. The face and throat are pale gray and the male has a red mustache. The legs, beak, and eyes are black.
