Other Names: Common Starling
Distribution: Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa; introduced throughout North America.
Size: 20-23 cm in length with a 31-40 cm wingspan.
Plumage: Adults are generally chunky and iridescent black with a long pointed bill that is yellow in summer and dark in fall and early winter. They are flecked with white in winter. Juveniles are uniform dull gray with a dark bill. The legs are peach to pink and the eyes are black.
