European Golden-Plover


They breed in  northernmost parts of Europe and western Asia; and the migrate south to winter in  southern Europe and north Africa.


Breeding birds have a spotted gold and black back and wings.  The face and below are they are black. Their face and neck are bordered with white. The rump is dark.  The legs are black.

In non-breeding birds, the face, neck and chest are yellowish and the abdomen whitish.
