Distribution: central Canada in summer; northwestern South America in winter. Rarely actually occurs in Connecticut.
Size: 13-15 cm in length with a 21-22 cm wingspan.
Plumage: Generally olive green above and dull yellow below. The head, throat, and upper breast are gray in males and dull brown in females. The beak and legs are pale and the eyes are black with a distinctive white eyering.
