Common Sandpiper

Distributiony

 Breed  across most of temperate and subtropical Europe and Asia.  Migrate south to winter in Africa, southern Asia and Australia.

Description

Common Sandpipers measure about 18 - 20 cm in length.

The upper plumage is greyish brown.  They are whitish below.

The short legs and feet are dark-yellowish legs and feet.  The pale bill has a dark tip.
