Broad-billed Sandpiper

Distribution / Range

The Broad-billed Sandpipers breed in arctic northern Europe and Siberia and winter from  easternmost Africa, through south and south-east Asia to Australasia.


Breeding birds are patterned dark grey above and whitish below with some black markings on the chest.  There is a pale stripe on the crown and face.

Non-breeding birds are whitish below and grey above.
