Description:

Size: 70-79 cm in length with a 105-115 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Generally matte black. Breeding birds have a bright cobalt-blue throat pouch bordered with yellow, and a small umber of slender white plumes on the face and back. Juveniles are dull brown, with buff coloring on the breast. The legs, beak, and eyes are all black.
