Distribution : central Canada and the northeastern United States in summer; coasts from teh Gulf of Mexico south through Cental America in winter.

Description:

Size: 13-15 cm in length, weighing 13-19 g.

Plumage:  Males have a blue-gray crown, neck, and face. They have an olive-green back, white throat and underside, two white bars on the brown wings, and yellow flanks and sides. Females and juveniles are grayer on the head. The legs are gray, the beak is black, and the eyes are black with white eyerings.
