Distribution: throughout the Caribbean and southern Florida in summer; northern South America in winter.

Size: 14-15 cm in length.

Plumage: Adults have dull olive-green uppersides and white undersides, with yellowish coloration on the flanks and under the tail. It has red eyes and a gray-brown crown with faint dusky edges. There is a dark line through the eyes, a white eyebrow stripe, and a distinctive black line on the neck sides. Juveniles are similar, but have brown-red eyes. The beak and legs are bluish-gray.
