Description:

Size: 36-39 cm in length with a 87-91 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Adults have a brownish-black cap extending to the eyes, but interrupted by pale eyebrows. There is a brown collar extending from the neck, along with a brownish-grey mantle, upperwing and tail. Pale upper tail feathers may form a narrow whitish band. The undersides are entirely white. The white underwing has a narrow black edge and tip. The eyes and bill are black and the legs are pink.
