Atlantic Puffin

Distribution: North Atlantic waters and islands.

Description:

Size: 47-52 cm in length with a 50-60 cm wingspan.

Plumage: Generally black above and white below, with a white face and red legs. The distinguishing triangular bill is brilliant red and yellow. In fall, the horny outer covering of the bill is shed, leaving it smaller and duller. The eyes are black with a triangular black spot over them.
