Falcons and caracaras falconidae
The family Falconidae - the Falcons and Caracaras - comprises around 60 species of birds of prey.
Found across the world, except the densest forest of central Africa or some remote oceanic islands, the high Arctic and Antarctica.
These small to medium sized birds of prey weigh, depending on the species, from 35 grams (1.2 oz) up to as much as 1,735 grams (61.2 oz).
The plumages come in various colors and patterns, mostly brown, white, chestnut, black and grey.
The bills are strongly hooked and the talons are sharply curved.
